Anafon 10:10 Blog

Our friends at 10:10 have developed two compelling blogs around their “keep the FITs campaign” The blogs are about two of the community energy project we work with. The built and soon to be powered up Anafon Hydro and the consented and yet to be built Ogwen Community Hydro in Bethesda. One a triumph over adversity and the second still at the adversity coal face with governments and their statutory bodies adding extension after extension on the tunnel as we all thought we had reached the light at its end. But if you’re not ready for a fight and quite a bit of struggle then don’t get into community energy. Good things will happen despite the system! Here is the face of community energy. It’s not venture capitalists in for a short-term gain. Real people investing real effort for a real future for their communities.

Whats gone well? The team! whats been a struggle? Everything else! But we have a consented system and waiting on tender hooks to see what the FIT consultation will do to this community assets future?

Whats gone well? The team! Whats been a struggle? Everything else! But we have a consented Hydro system and waiting on tender hooks to see what the FIT consultation will do to this community assets future? Like all community undertakings the investment in time is immense but because the accountants don’t value volunteer time then it is not accounted for! The benefits are huge over the projects life time.  (Image 10:10)
