Kingspan, Jaguar Land Rover, IKEA… what do they all have in common in the field of renewable energy projects?

The National Trust Wales ‘Hafod y Llan fit for the future project’ on Snowdon beat them all to first place in last night’s glittering Green Business Leaders Awards. We won the   best project category. The projects were selected and placed by industry leaders. This is a real accolade and is seen as one of the top awards in the sustainability fields in the UK.

The reason for the award. Simple, we had demonstrated that you can sensitively and appropriately do quite a few energy approaches even in the most sensitive of sites.  But its is also grounded with good business acumen and high quality technology. Hafod y Llan is testament to this. Multiple Hydros, Biomass, heat pumps, LED and so on. But also that we are actively sharing our learning through the ‘fit for the future network’ and this blog. Seeing the farm lads in DJ’s took a little getting used to but it was a superb evening with over 500 guest and many of them global leaders in the field of renewables… and little Hafod y Llan was on top of the pile. Surprised…I certainly was, especially after seeing the quality of the other shortlisted entries.
