Our 100kw hydro is now marching accross the mountain. Hafod y Porth progress

Today was a mountain day. Out with John Millen the project manager to see the progress on the Hafod y Porth (also called Craflwyn) hydro. Progress has been made! Turbine building is coming along a pace. I know how slow it is to get out of the ground (building up). Looks like the contractors are almost out of the ground. At a 100m a day the main water supply pipe for the turbine is progressing well. They were butt fusing out on the mountain. 8 lengths of the 14m pipe a day. The weather is a major factor in pipe welding. Rain does stop play. The lightning yesterday did not help. Overall we are on time, on plan and going well

Hi folks, I hope the pipeline is going to be hidden? It’s a bit of an eyesore at the moment. David Medcalf, Porthmadog
