Out this morning with Rhys the National Trust Operations Manager for Snowdonia. He posed me a challenge, which was to help with the sustainability of a 1545 house. (financial and environmental) I will let you read why this site is important to the Welsh Language on the following link.
The possibility for energy is small. LED already. (steep, shaded, slightly damp bit of NW Wales) we went to see if a small hidden PV array could help with the sites electricity use and generate a small amount of income to maintain the property. Simple answer is no! But looks like we have another possible micro but probably peco-hydro (<10kw because of the local grid and size of stream). Easy to hide, stunning access and a site ready to consume some of the electricity) As ever lets see? I should now stop going out into the countryside…it just creates work!
