Going down to the woods and seeing Plas Newydd from a different place

I went down to have a look at what the marine source heat pump looked like from the other side of the Menai Straits. I was over first thing this morning at the National Trust Faenol Estate to see what impact the new marine source pump house was making to the view towards Plas Newydd. To tell you the truth…  being only 5 ft tall, black and on a black background..none at all. Oh well so whilst I was there i had ten minutes to see how John the National Trust Faenol Ranger and his volunteers were getting on with his creation. The new National Trust Rangers building was growing nicely out of the woodland. Off grid and built from materials found within 300 meters of the site. John and the volunteers are growing their building nicely. I later saw his team out with the mobile mill near Plas Newydd converting some of the trees blown down in the February storms into more construction timber. This timber must be at least 700 meter as the crow flies from his new building (is this local I hear you say?)

  1. What a beautiful building! I’d happily (not sure your Ranger would approve) live in that! The marine-source heat pump aint half bad too.
