I can not go to a property and not look for the one thing no property should be without…yes thats right, a hydro!! But first things first which was to admire the stunning water-mill down in the dell. The weir, leat and mill are in fairly good condition. Paul and William are working at developing a new fish and eel pass for the weir. This got us thinking if there is any possibility of getting a wheel or turbine turning in the mill again? It’s in the ‘it would be nice’ category at the moment. Lots and lots of measuring, consultation, design before we get anywhere near a maybe…but you never know!

William looking at the old launder which used to feed the giant wheels. I wonder?

lots of the old infrastructure still in place. This old sluice gate mechanism looks like its been taken from a railway?
