Conrad will be opening its big blue doors for the last time this February before returning to its native Germany. The demonstration unit is a working model of the IFBB process (Integrated Generation of Solid Fuel and Biogas from Biomass) and will be processing farmland plant material to produce biogas and fuel briquettes.

Blue Conrad arrived in Wales last November, and for four days we talked, demonstrated and generated interest in the process amongst Welsh Government, local authorities, nature conservation organisations  from across the UK and bioenergy businesses. We have had an exciting positive response to our discussions so far regarding the potential for using this technology  to process the material currently cut and left on highway verges, processed into compost at civic amenity sites or cut and dumped into piles in nature conservation areas. The what next phase is building to be an exciting project. More on this later. Come over to see, share, take part or generally be nosy!

Demonstration days will be held on 20th, 21st and 24th February. Please contact RachelS@severnwye.org.uk for more information or to
