Pipe dream. well no not really went to see our pipe being manufactured for the Snowdon hydro

Mr Millen with 'HIS' pipes. Wonder of these pipes know whats ahead of them? Onec at the farm this little lot will be flown up the mountain as they will be for the lower pressure upper section (the helociper pilot called over to see them last week to assess the technicalities of the lift.

John and I were down in Huntington on Monday at the GPS pipe  factory looking at the manufacture of the pipe for the Snowdon hydro. To be factually correct we were there to see how the pipes had been manufactured as they were waiting for delivery at GPS storage compound nearby. (50 acres of pipe at an airfield – that’s a lot of pipe) Lots and lots of articulated lorries needed to bring them over to Snowdon. It was an eye opener both in terms of scale and quality control. Turning plastic granules into miles and miles of different performing pipes was really interesting (I am starting to fear for my self) In tw0 weeks or so we should have a mountain of pipes at the farm to pipe the mountain.

last bits of the manufacturing work for the Snowdon hydro order. these are the flange and transition sections waiting to be completed

Last bits of the manufacturing work for the Snowdon hydro pipe order. These are the flange and transition sections waiting to be completed. Needed for joining stuff and also for the changes in widths of each section as the water pressure increases as we come down the mountain

Cheesy Jones with the thinner upper secton pipes. This is a small part of almost 1km of pipe order

Cheesy Jones with the thinner upper section pipes. This is a small part of almost 1km of pipe order. And as John said ‘our eyeballs’ were hurting it was so cold on Monday hence the relaxed pose i had in the picture
