The Power of Partnerships (to pinch Simon Brammers words)

Parity ProjectsHave just spent a couple of very interesting days shadowing Chris Newman from Ashden Award winning Parity Projects as he carried out in-depth energy assessments of some of our properties.

Keith and I met Russell Smith, the Managing Director of Parity, when we attended the Ashden Awards earlier in the year. After having a chat about their “masterplan” assessments, and a few beers, we arranged for Parity to come over to Wales and share their  knowledge and assessment model by taking examples of typical  properties – Office building, holiday cottages, and farm managers house – then develop with us in-depth energy efficiency and renewables opportunities reports and action plans for improvement.Gwernoia holiday cottage

I met Chris over at the stunningly beautiful Gwernoia holiday cottage in the heart of Snowdonia on Monday afternoon. During the following days Chris has visited a further 4 properties and discussed with staff how the energy efficiency of the buildings can be enhanced.Having a mooch around

What does it actually entail?

Having a good mooch around the properties – measuring, photographing, counting lightbulbs and the like (not very glamourous) – then bringing it all together via Parity’s Masterplan software to provide a detailed options and opportunities assessment.

This for Keith and I shows the real benefit of “The Power of Partneships”  to increase our knowledge and continually improve by doing.
