Open farm Sunday at Hafod y Llan on Snowdon. More than hydros!

Rodger one of the farm shepherds teaching hand shearing at Hafod y Llan

Went with the tribe over to Hafod y Llan farm today for the Open farm Sunday . Perfect day as there was a break in the June monsoon. Between the hand shearing, Alpacas, stone walling competition, wool carding and spinning, some ‘tynnu coes’ (google translate that one) inspect your poo stand (sheep fecal pest inspection kit…honest) and a chance to discuss the large hydro development. It was a really good day with hundreds turning up. It was a good chance to see under the bonnet of a large mountain farm. My children had a great day making wool rugs, playing with the sheep dogs and seeing the project which seems to be consuming dads time. If you get a chance please support the next Open farm Sunday event.

Hard to believe from my blog but there’s much more than hydros at the farm! If your passing have a go at the farm trail! Keep up with what is happening LINK

It was a busy day! Junior section of the dry-stone walling competition
