In my first blog post I am delighted to announce that we have successfully gained planning consent for the Hafod y Llan hydro. An impressive amount of surveys, studies, consultation, blood, sweat and tears (well maybe not blood..) has been invested into the project so far and we are delighted to have been given the green light to proceed.
Some of the next steps include agreeing the work programme with the contractor, protection of trees and archaeology before any work commences and to install the temporary signage to inform the 60,000+ annual visitors to the Watkin Path about what we are doing and why. Our temporary signage is now ready to be installed up the mountain in various locations:
We also intend to keep a photographic record of the works here at: http://ntenvironmentalwork.net/snowdon-hydro/
Onwards and upwards, literally!
